Introduction
Established in 1982 Hollybush is a family owned garden centre occupying a 20 acre site with a vast undercover area including a café, licensed restaurant and shopping village.
The Brief
The client was experiencing really high energy costs, as their expansion was happening, and were in need of an urgent review of their contracts, terms and consumption.
The Outcome
We quickly established that the client was on really high “out of contract” rates and being charged excessively. Our access to a wide range of suppliers right across the energy market meant that we were able to find the right products for the client, lowering both their daily standing costs, and also their unit rate.
We worked with the client to manage the transition into the new contract seamlessly and also ensure they have access to online billing, smart metering, for accuracy, and also passed through all credit vetting smoothly.
The Conclusion
The first full year has seen savings on the gas usage of over £26,000, which was a 49% reduction in costs!
We also achieved savings in excess of £34,000 on the client’s electricity contract too, which equated to a further 17% reduction in costs.
We were also able to encourage the client to take advantage of monetising the existing solar supply on site and to use this energy to further lower both energy consumption and costs.
We continue to work with the client to bring an existing biomass boiler into commission to supply both heat and hot water for the garden centre.

A total saving of £60,000 was achieved in the first year we worked with the client, followed up by a further £20,000 in the next year once we were able to identify better rates and lower consumption of energy.
